Live shows in 2025 lean on more complex video, audio and network kit than they did even a few years ago. The technical supplier you book is the team that has to make it work under pressure. A short checklist we use with clients is below.
1. Real experience on similar shows
Ask what they have actually run: room size, presenter count, streaming requirement and who operated on the day. Fancy gear does not help if the crew have never stressed it in a live room.
2. Clear on-site cover
Live events need people in the room when something drops offline. Confirm who is on site for bump in, show and pack down, and how they hand issues without stopping the run.
3. Kit that matches the brief
Your partner should size audio, vision and networking to the room and audience, not deliver a cookie-cutter package that barely fits.
4. Straightforward power and cabling
LED walls and heavy lighting draw real current. A good supplier thinks about distro, backups and safe runs before load-in day.
5. Plain-English pricing
You want line items you understand, contingency spelled out, and no surprise hire days tucked in after sign-off.
The right technical partner should make load-in calmer and the show easier to call, not add stress at the desk.
